Privacy Policy — HQ214

1. Who We Are

Hq214 is operated by Flat Black Society for active members of Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines. The app exists to keep members informed of schedules, check-ins, and unit information — nothing more. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control of it.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an Hq214 account, we collect:

• Name — to identify you within the unit roster
• Phone number — to send SMS notices and check-in reminders
• Email address — for account access and non-SMS notices

We do not collect payment information, location data, or any information beyond what's needed to reach you.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to contact you regarding unit business: schedules, check-ins, and unit information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles from it beyond what's needed to run the roster.

4. Text Messaging (SMS) Program

By creating an Hq214 account, you opt in to receive text messages at the phone number you provide. Messages are limited to unit notices and unit information, for example:

"Hq214: Formation moved to 0600 tomorrow at the battery office."

"Hq214: Check-in required by 1800 today. Reply or use the app to confirm."

You will receive no more than 3 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or by disabling notices in your account settings. Reply HELP, or use the contact information below, for assistance.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent — this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who operate the app and SMS delivery on our behalf, bound to use your data solely to provide that service
• Authorities, if required to comply with a legal obligation

We never share your phone number or SMS opt-in status with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you leave the unit or request deletion, we remove your personal information from active systems, except where we're required to retain records for a limited period by law.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. No system is perfectly secure, but access to member data is limited to those who need it to operate Hq214.

8. Your Choices

You can review or correct your information at any time from your account, opt out of SMS notices by replying STOP or updating your settings, and request that we delete your account and associated information by contacting us below.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify active members through the app or by email before the change takes effect.
